REGINA -- Ken Miller's days with the Saskatchewan Roughriders are coming to an end.

A team official confirmed Monday that Miller will step down as the Riders' head coach and vice-president of football operations at season's end.

The official said the 70-year-old Miller would make the move official following the team's practice Monday.

Saskatchewan (5-12) finishes its season Friday in Edmonton.

Miller joined the Roughriders as the team's offensive coordinator in 2007, and was instrumental in leading the team to their Grey Cup championship that same year.

Since becoming head coach in 2008, Miller guided the Riders to three home playoff games and two consecutive Grey Cup appearances.

He also received three consecutive nominations for CFL Coach of the Year.

Miller had intended to leave his post as head coach this season, but returned to the sidelines in August after Greg Marshall was fired following losses in seven of the team's first eight games.

Prior to joining the Riders, Miller spent time with the Toronto Argonauts.
