Wolves Sweep Seattle
















Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wolves continued their strong play in the NPHL this past weekend, sweeping a pair of games from the Seattle Ravens, 14-1 on Saturday, January 23rd and 7-0 on Sunday, January 24th.

On Saturday, January 23rd in Kent, the Wolves rolled to the decisive victory, 14-1 over Seattle. Wenatchee scored 5 in the first, 5 in the second and 4 more in the third. Griffin Wiencek (Sherwood, OR) tallied 3 goals and 2 assists, Will Connors (Richland, WA) had 2 goals and 5 assists, Thomas Hendry (Salt Lake City, UT) and Denton Hymer (Wenatchee, WA) each had 2 goals and 1 assist, Coleton Booth (Delta, BC) scored twice, Hunter Alden had a goal and 4 assists, while Anders Johnson (Salt Lake City, UT) had a goal and 2 assists. Max Roth (Wilmette, IL) chipped in with a goal and an assist. The Wolves outshot the Ravens 65-10 on the night, while going 5-for-7 on the power play and 3-of-4 on the penalty kill. Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) stopped 9 shots.

On Sunday, January 24th in Wenatchee, the Wolves outshot Seattle 59-10, en route to the 7-0 victory. Hendry had 2 goals and an assist, Alden and Wiencek had a goal and 2 assists each, Hymer and Booth added a goal and an assist each and Brayden Durante (New Westminster, BC) added a goal. Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 10 saves for his sixth shutout of the season. Wenatchee went 0-for-4 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill.

“The guys played well all weekend.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head Coach Ryan McKelvie. “We’ll look to build off of that headed into a three-game road weekend.”

The Wolves, who have clinched a playoff spot, are now 27-1-0-0 in NPHL play, 11 points ahead of second place Bellingham. Next on the schedule for Wenatchee is a game in Eugene against the Generals on Thursday, January 28th, followed by a home-and-home series with the Tri-Cities Outlaws, Friday, January 29th in Kennewick and Sunday, January 31st in Wenatchee at 2:35pm.
