Medicine Hat Tigers 5, Calgary Hitmen 4
Despite outshooting their hosts 15-1 in the third, a late Calgary goal wasn't enough, as the Tigers grabbed a one-goal victory, before 2,895 at the Canalta Centre in Medicine Hat. Linus Nassen had 2 goals and an assist for the Tigers, Hayden Ostir a goal and an assist, Corson Hopwo a goal, Josh Williams a goal and Jordan Hollett 36 saves. For Calgary, Kaden Elder scored twice, Luke Coleman and Cael Zimmerman once each, Jack McNaughton 23 saves.
Portland Winterhawks 8, Spokane Chiefs 6
Portland, trailing 5-4 after two, outscored Spokane 4-1 in the third to grab the road win before 3,861 at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Joachim Blichfeld had a big night for Portland, with 2 goals and 3 assists, Jake Gricius scored twice Reece Newkirk a goal and 2 assists, Ryan Hughes a goal and assist, Lane Gilliss a goal and Jaydon Dureau a goal on a penalty shot. Shane Farkas and Dante Gianuzzi combined to make 23 saves. For the Chiefs, who were outshot 53-23, their goals were scored by Riley Wood, who scored twice and added a pair of assists, Ethan McIndoe with a goal and 2 assists, Luke Toporowski, who had a goal and assist, Nolan Reid and Adam Beckman, who had a goal apiece. Jake McGrew chipped in to the offense with three assists, while in goal, Bailey Brkin made 45 saves. Portland was 4-for-7 on the power play and 3-of-4 on the penalty kill.
