Western Hockey League roundup for Sunday, October 13th, 2019













Edmonton Oil Kings 2, Portland Winterhawks 1 (SO)

Matthew Robertson scored for Edmonton at 10:03 of the 1st and Johnny Ludvig responded for Portland at 4:25 of the 3rd, then Carter Souch scored in the second round of the shootout to push the Oil Kings to victory in front of 4,310 at Rogers Place. Sebastian Cossa made 31 saves for Edmonton, Joel Hofer 39 for Portland.

Lethbridge Hurricanes 5, Regina Pats 4

3 goals in the 1st and 2 more in the 2nd helped Lethbridge to the victory, with 3,415 at Brandt Centre. Oliver Okullar scored twice for the Hurricanes, who also got singles from Ty Prefontaine, Dylan Cozens and Ty Nash. Okullar's game winner at 9:17 of the 2nd was also shorthanded. Lethbridge netminder Bryan Thompson made 22 saves. The Pats, now 1-9 on the season, got a goal and assist from Cole Dubinsky, plus goals from Ty Kolle, Logan Nijhoff and Austin Pratt. Matthew Kieper and Danton Belluk combined to make 19 saves.
