Wolves Win Three On Weekend

Wenatchee, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wolves remain unbeaten in NPHL play, winning all three games played this past weekend. The Wolves topped Bellingham 2-1 on Friday, November 27^th, then swept Eugene, winning 5-2 on Saturday, November 29^th and 4-1 on Sunday, November 29^th.

In Friday’s game, Andrew Moessner (Omaha, NE) and Richie Stickle (Healy, AK) scored the goals and Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 24 saves, leading the Wolves to the 2-1 win over Bellingham. Wenatchee was 1-for-7 on the power play and 2-of-2 on the penalty kill.

On Saturday, the Wolves scored 3 in the third to break open a tie game after two, beating Eugene 5-2. Brayden Durante (New Westminster, BC) paced the attack with two goals, Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) made 19 saves. Wenatchee was 2-for-8 on the power play and 4-of-4 on the penalty kill.

In Sunday’s contest, the Wolves scored 4 times in the third to grab the win 4-1 over the Generals. Will Connors (Richland, WA), Hayden Givens (Portland, OR), Johnny Schacher (Bakersfield, CA) and Tom Ignatovich (Seattle, WA) scored the goals, Moore made 10 saves. Wenatchee was 1-for-5 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill.

“It was a tough weekend for us.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head Coach Ryan McKelvie. “Three games in three days, one on the road against two of the better teams in the league. I thought our guys showed a lot of heart and played great all weekend and found ways to win each one of those games. That shows a lot about the character of the guys we have in the locker room.”

The Wolves are now 19-0-0 in NPHL play, 10 points ahead of second-place Bellingham. Wenatchee plays at Eugene on Thursday, December 10th, then at Tri-Cities on Friday, December 11^th, before hosting Tri-Cities on Saturday, December 12^th at 7:35pm both days.

Wenatchee, WA. – The Trail Smoke Eaters scored 3 times in the first 2:49 of the contest, then went on to defeat the Wenatchee Wild 4-2 Friday night, in front of 3,454 at the Town Toyota Center.

The Smoke Eaters opened the scoring at 1:03 on a goal by Connor Brown-Maloski, assisted by Nick Halloran, putting the visitors up 1-0. Then, 31 seconds later, Ryan Swanson chased Wild netminder Chase Perry (Andover, MN) with a goal, assisted by Brown-Maloski and Ross Armour, putting Trail up 2-0. Then, at 2:49, Kale Howarth scored from Spencer McLean, increasing the Smokies’ lead to 3-0.

In the second, Trail added a goal by Kienan Scott, off an assist by Max Newton at 11:46, giving the Smoke Eaters a 4-0 lead after two.

Wenatchee would make a game of it in the third. Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) scored from Mike Coyne (Buffalo, NY) and Kyle Stephan (Barrie, ON) at 8:16, then Logan Milliken (Canmore, AB) scored from Stephan and Coyne at 15:45, but the Wild could get no closer, as Trail held on for the 4-2 win.

The Wild outshot the Smokies 32-25 on the night. Perry and Garrett Nieto (Yorba Linda, CA) combined to make 21 stops for Wenatchee, while Bailey MacBurnie had 30 saves for Trail. The Wild went 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill. “Not a great effort on our part.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “Trail did everything better than we did. They out-coached us, they played better in goal than us, they defended better, they played offence better. One of those nights that it was a good old fashioned butt-whooping. Hopefully we learned from it and need to get ready to play three hockey games next week. There’s between now and next Thursday, there’s going to be a lot of hard work involved.”

With the win, the Smoke Eaters improve to 11-15-0-0 on the season, Wenatchee falls to 16-8-2-2. The Wild concludes their 4-game home stand next Thursday and Friday, December 3^rd and 4^th against the Surrey Eagles at the Town Toyota Center. Faceoff is set for 7:05pm PST both nights.

Wenatchee, WA. -- The Wenatchee Wild look to bounce back with a win tonight as they host the Trail Smoke Eaters at the Town Toyota Center. These two teams have met once this season, with the Wild taking a 3-1 win at the showcase in Chilliwack back on September 27th. Late Rally Falls Short As Wild Falls To West Kelowna

Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild nearly dug themselves out of a three-goal hole Thursday night but fell just short, losing to the West Kelowna Warriors 4-3, in front of 2,510 at the Town Toyota Center.

West Kelowna scored twice in the first period. Tanner Campbell scored from Quin Foreman and Liam Blackburn at 6:17, then Connor Sodergren scored, assisted by Jared Marino at 9:31, putting the Warriors on top after one, 2-0.

In the second, Wenatchee cut the deficit in half as Matt Baker (Midhurst, ON) scored from Brandon Puricelli (St. Louis, MO) and Bryan Yoon (Parker, CO) at 6:01, bringing the Wild within one, at 2-1. West Kelowna would respond however with a Jonathan Desbiens power play goal, assisted by Kylar Hope and Liam Blackburn at 15:52, putting the Warriors up 3-1 after two.

West Kelowna would get what proved to be the difference maker halfway through the third, as Hope scored shorthanded from Brett Mennear at 9:59, giving the Warriors a 4-1 lead. Wenatchee would make a charge late though. Baker scored on the power play from August Von Ungern (Boise, ID) and Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) at 14:04, making it a 4-2 game. Then, with the goaltender off for an extra attacker, Mike Coyne (Buffalo, NY) scored from Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) and Tyler Rockwell (San Jose, CA) at 18:10 to draw the Wild within one, at 4-3. However, West Kelowna would hold on from there, skating away with the 4-3 win.

The Warriors outshot Wenatchee 37-26 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 33 stops for the Wild, while Keelan Williams had 23 saves for West Kelowna. Wenatchee went 1-for-3 with a shorthanded goal against on the power play and 1-of-2 on the penalty kill. “Wasn’t a horrible effort, but I guess I describe it as a soft effort.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “I thought we created some offensive chances but we didn’t fight hard enough to capitalize any second chances. And defensively, their defense worked a little bit harder than we worked. That was the difference in the hockey game tonight.”

With the win, the Warriors improve to 15-9-0-2 on the season, the Wild fall to 16-7-2-2. Wenatchee continues their 4-game home stand Friday, November 27^th against the Trail Smoke Eaters at the Town Toyota Center. Faceoff is set for 7:05pm PST.

Wolves Sweep Seattle

Wenatchee, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wolves remain as the only unbeaten team in USA Hockey Tier Three play, defeating the Seattle Ravens 3-0 on Friday, November 20^th and 8-1 on Sunday, November 22nd.

In Friday’s game, Hayden Givens (Portland, OR) had 2 goals and an assist and Griffin Weincek (Sherwood, OR) had a goal, while Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 15 saves. The Wolves were 0-for-0 on the power play and 2-of-2 on the penalty kill.

In Sunday’s contest, the Wolves scored 4 times in the first and rolled to the win. Coleton Booth (Delta, BC) had 2 goals and 2 assists, Richie Stickle (Healy, AK) had 2 goals and an assist and Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) had 8 saves. Wenatchee went 1-for-1 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill.

“The guys worked hard all weekend and played two complete games.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head Coach Ryan McKelvie. “I think we are a good possession team that moves the puck well, so we are really focusing on penetrating the mid-ice and making more plays at the net front. We still have some work to do in that department, but I thought we took a good step forward this weekend.

The Wolves are now 16-0-0 in NPHL play, 6 points ahead of second-place Bellingham. Wenatchee plays at Bellingham this Friday, November 27^th, then hosts Eugene on Saturday and Sunday, November 28^th and 29^th, 2:35pm both days.

Wild Blows Past Surrey

Surrey, BC. – The Wenatchee Wild continued their strong play on the road Sunday, skating to an 8-0 win over the Surrey Eagles at the South Surrey Arena.

Mike Coyne (Buffalo, NY) opened the scoring for Wenatchee, assisted by August Von Ungern (Boise, ID) at 11:01, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead. Von Ungern would then score unassisted just 5 seconds later at 11:06, putting Wenatchee on top 2-0 after one.

In the second, Kyle Stephan (Barrie, ON) scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 4:07, Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) added a power play goal from Troy Conzo (Nesconset, NY) and Joe Drabin (Rochester, NY) at 9:30, then Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) scored from Brandon Puricelli (St. Louis, MO) at 13:25, putting the Wild up 5-0 after two.

Wenatchee would add three more goals in the third. Von Ungern scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 5:21, Matt Baker (Midhurst, ON) scored a power play goal from Harris and Logan Milliken (Canmore, AB) at 10:08, then Milliken added a late goal from Harris and Stephan at 18:15, giving the Wild the 8-0 win.

Wenatchee outshot the Eagles 41-18 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 18 saves for the Wild for his third shutout of the season, Forbes Ploszaj 33 for Surrey. Wenatchee went 2-6 on the power play and 4 of 4 with a pair of shorthanded goals on the penalty kill. “Overall that was a very good team effort from goaltending out, where Chase didn’t see a lot of action.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “But he did what he was supposed to do. Then, all four lines and all seven D definitely contributed”

With the win, Wenatchee improves to 16-6-2-2 on the season, moving back into first place in the Mainland Division. The Eagles slip to 4-21-0-0 on the season. The Wild returns home to face West Kelowna on Thursday, November 26^th and Trail on Friday, November 27^th.

Wild At Surrey This Afternoon

Langley, British Columbia -- The Wenatchee Wild wrap up their brief three-game road swing this afternoon, with a matinee game at the Surrey Eagles. These two teams have met twice in Wenatchee, with the Wild winning both games, 7-5 and 8-0 back on October 24th and 25th.

Game time this afternoon is set for 4:00pm PST, with the live broadcast from the South Surrey Arena getting underway at 3:50pm on 97.7FM KYSN, kysn.com and Fasthockey.com.

Wild Edges Chilliwack

Chilliwack, BC. – The Wenatchee Wild rebounded from Friday’s loss with an impressive 3-2 win over the Chilliwack Chiefs Saturday night, in front of 2,932 at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack.

The Wild’s Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) opened the scoring by tucking home a backhander in tight. Alex Bates (Highlands Ranch, CO) assisted at 9:53, giving Wenatchee a 1-0 lead. The Chiefs would respond not quite three minutes later with a Darien Craighead goal, assisted by Austin Adam and Kohen Olischefski. The goal, at 12:38, tied the game 1-1 after one.

In the second, Matt Baker (Midhurst, ON) scored from August Von Ungern (Boise, ID) at 4:33, putting the Wild back on top 2-1. However, Chilliwack would get the equalizer off the stick of Jake Smith at 10:24. Jeremy Germain assisted, squaring things at 2-2 through two.

In the third, Harris would force a turnover and then got the puck to Kyle Stephan (Barrie, ON), who ripped home the go-ahead goal. The marker, coming at 15:41, would make the difference, as Wenatchee would go on to the 3-2 win.

The Wild outshot the Chiefs 24-23 on the night. Garrett Nieto (Yorba Linda, CA) made 21 saves for Wenatchee, Aidan Pelino 21 for Chilliwack. The Wild went 0-1 on the power play and 2 of 2 on the penalty kill. “That may have been the most up-and-down, fast paced, hard hitting game that we’ve played all year.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “Resembled a track meet at times but I thought both teams played exceptionally well. Both goalies played very well, there wasn’t a lot not to like.”

With the win, Wenatchee improves to 15-6-2-2 on the season, the Chiefs slip to 16-6-1-2 on the season. The Wild concludes their road swing in Surrey on Sunday, November 22nd. The Wild return home to face West Kelowna on Thursday, November 26^th and Trail on Friday, November 27^th.

Wolves Play In NAPHL Showcase

Wenatchee, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wolves skated in the recent NAPHL Showcase at the Aston Ice Works in Aston, Pennsylvania, winning two of the five games played.

On Friday, November 13^th the Wolves lost to the Esmark Stars U18 team 3-0. Wenatchee was outshot 24-12 in the game, with Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) making 21 saves. The Wolves were 0-for-5 on the power play and 5-of-5 on the penalty kill.

Later on Friday, Wenatchee dropped a 4-1 contest to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights U18s. Coleton Booth (Delta, BC) scored a power play goal for the Wolves, who had 31 saves from Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA). Wenatchee went 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-of-3 on the penalty kill.

On Saturday, November 14^th, the Wolves lost to the Long Island Gulls U18 team 3-1. Richie Stickle (Healy, AK) scored for Wenatchee, Flynn made 14 saves. The Wolves were 0-for-6 on the power play and 4-of-4 on the penalty kill.

On Sunday, November 15^th, Wenatchee blanked the Washington Little Capitals U18s 2-0. Jonathan Banovetz (Eagle River, AK) on the power play and Booth scored the goals, Moore stopped all 33 shots he faced. The Wolves were 1-for-3 on the power play and 6-f-6 on the penalty kill.

Finally, on Monday, November 16^th, Wenatchee edged the Arizona Bobcats U18s, 2-1. Griffin Weincek (Sherwood, OR) and Hayden Givens (Portland, OR) scored for the Wolves, Flynn made 22 saves. Wenatchee went 0-for-1 on the power play and 2-of-2 on the penalty kill.

Next NPHL action for the Wolves is a two-game series at the Seattle Ravens on Friday, November 20^th at 6:35pm and Sunday, November 21^st at 12:00pm.

Wild Drop Game In Coquitlam

Coquitlam, BC. – The Wenatchee Wild opened a three-game road swing Friday night, dropping a 4-1 contest to the Coquitlam Express at the Poirer Sports and Leisure Centre in Coquitlam, B.C.

Austin McIlmurray opened the scoring for the Express just 63 seconds into the contest, off assists from Colton Kerfoot and Jackson Cressey for a 1-0 Coquitlam lead. The Express would add to the lead halfway through the period, as Blake Hayward scored from Jake Brien and Owen Stout at 9:56, giving Coquitlam a 2-0 lead after one.

In the second, Kerfoot would score a power play goal from Taylor Green and Jarell Pinchuk at 7:44, putting the Express on top 3-0 after two.

In the third, Wenatchee would finally get on the board, as Logan Milliken (Canmore, AB) sent home a shot from the high slot. Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) and Troy Conzo (Nesconset, NY) assisted on the goal at 2:55, drawing the Wild within two, at 3-1. However, a Pinchuk goal for Coquitlam from Kerfoot and Cressey at 14:22 ended the scoring for the night, as the Express would skate to the 4-1 win.

Wenatchee outshot Coquitlam 38-24 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 20 saves for the Wild, Lawson Fenton 37 for the Express. Wenatchee went 0-6 on the power play and 1 of 2 on the penalty kill. “That was a tough one.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “They started out a little hungrier than we were maybe the first 10-12 minutes of the first period. After that I thought we had the better of the chances but the story of the night, they were hungrier on the second and third chances than we were and the hungry team wins.”

With the win, Coquitlam improves to 10-10-1-3 on the season, the Wild slip to 14-6-2-2 on the season, three points behind first-place Chilliwack in the Mainland Division. Wenatchee continues their road swing in Chilliwack on Saturday, November 21^st and then Surrey on Sunday, November 22nd. The Wild return home to face West Kelowna on Thursday, November 26^th and Trail on Friday, November 27^th.

Wild Lose In Overtime To Vernon

Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild let a late lead slip away, dropping a 3-2 overtime contest to the Vernon Vipers, in front of 3,011 Saturday night at the Town Toyota Center.

After a scoreless first period, Wenatchee’s Mike Coyne (Buffalo, NY) scored from Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) and Kyle Stephan (Barrie, ON) assisted at 2:00, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Jagger Williamson tied it up for Vernon, assisted by Griffin James and Liam Finlay at 6:00, squaring the contest at 1-1. But, not quite four minutes later, Wenatchee regained the lead, as Stephan scored from Raabe and Coyne at 9:55, putting the Wild on top 2-1 after two.

That lead would hold until the final minute of the third. With the goaltender out for an extra attacker, the Vipers’ Odeen Tufto scored from Latrell Charleson and Williamson at 19:23, tying the game 2-2 and forcing overtime.

In the extra session, Jimmy Lambert poked home a loose puck to settle the contest. Tufto assisted at 4:10, giving Vernon the 3-2 win.

Wenatchee outshot Vernon 35-21 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 18 saves for the Wild, Adam Shortridge 33 for the Vipers. Wenatchee went 1-5 on the power play and 6 of 6 on the penalty kill. “That’s a tough one.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “Outplayed them most of the night, we made a mistake in the last minute, that’s a tough one to take. Give them (Vernon) credit, they hung in there, their goaltender played well. We had our chances where we should have been up more than a goal, that’s unfortunate. I do think the penalties cost us tonight. We did a great job on the kill, but the penalties were, our defenseman down in the end, that’s unfortunate we played better than that tonight, should have got both points.”

With the win, Vernon improves to 11-12-0-1 on the season, the Wild slip to 14-5-2-2 on the season, one point behind first-place Chilliwack in the Mainland Division. Wenatchee hits the road next weekend, playing at Coquitlam on Friday, November 20^th, Chilliwack on Saturday, November 21^st and then Surrey on Sunday, November 22nd.

Wild Slides Past Prince George

Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild were able to come back from an early first period deficit Friday night to edge the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1, in front of 3,044 at the Town Toyota Center.

Prince George would score the lone goal of the opening period, as Jake LeBrun scored a power play goal, assisted by Matthew Stief and Cavin Tilsley just 2:48 in, giving the Spruce Kings a 1-0 lead.

In the second, Wenatchee would strike twice. Matt Baker (Midhurst, ON) scored on the power play, sliding home a shot from in close. Blake Christensen (Lauderhill, FL) and Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) assisted at 11:00, tying the game 1-1. Then, in the final minute of the period, a Logan Milliken (Canmore, AB) shot from the left point found its way through a screen and into the goal at 19:26. Troy Conzo (Nesconset, NY) and Mike Coyne (Buffalo, NY) drew the assists, putting the Wild up 2-1 after 40 minutes.

In the third, Wenatchee put up a solid defensive effort and rode that to the 2-1 win.

The Wild outshot Prince George 27-19 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 18 saves for Wenatchee, Sam Tanguay had 25 saves for the Spruce Kings. The Wild went 1-6 on the power play and 3 of 4 on the penalty kill. “Overall, you never want to get behind the eight-ball like we did three minutes in, where you’re down 1-0.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “It came from an offensive zone penalty that put us shorthanded. You make a pass and a shot, I don’t think our goalie had a chance. But other than that, we didn’t really give up any quality chances. I know Chase had the one really big save under five minutes to go. Other than that, I thought we competed pretty hard the second and third periods. It was a pretty good hockey game.”

With the win, the Wild improves to 14-5-2-1 on the season, tied with Chilliwack for first in the Mainland Division, while Prince George slips to 5-15-0-2. Wenatchee is home Saturday night, hosting the Vernon Vipers at the Town Toyota Center starting at 7:05pm PST. Wolves Remain Unbeaten In NPHL

Wenatchee, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wolves, proud members of the Northern Pacific Hockey League, had another successful weekend in the NPHL, winning both games played this past weekend, defeating the Tri-Cities Outlaws 5-4 on Friday, November 6th, then winning 6-0 on Sunday, November 8th.

In Friday’s 5-4 win, Hayden Givens (Portland, OR) tallied three goals and an assist, while Thomas Hendry (Salt Lake City, UT) and Griffin Wiencek (Sherwood, OR) added a goal and an assist. Hendry’s third-period shorthanded goal was the game winner.  Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) stopped 27 shots. The Wolves were 3-for-7 on the power play and 5-of-7 with a shorthanded goal on the penalty kill.

Wild Completes Weekend Sweep Of Coquitlam

Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild parlayed a huge shot advantage in the first 40 minutes to a two-goal lead, on their way to their second consecutive 4-2 win over the Coquitlam Express, in front of 3,129 at the Town Toyota Center Saturday night.

Wenatchee would score the lone goal of the opening period, as Blake Christensen (Lauderhill, FL) scored, assisted by Matt Baker (Midhurst, ON) and August Von Ungern (Boise, ID) at 4:56, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead after one.

In the second, Joe Drabin (Rochester, NY) scored at 5:01, assisted by Matt Burchill (Marshfield, MA) and Austin Chavez (Corona, CA), putting Wenatchee on top, 2-0. The Express would respond quickly. Jarell Pinchuk scored from Austin McIlmurray and Jack Surowiec at 5:24, slicing the deficit to 2-1. However, Bryan Yoon (Parker, CO) scored on a shot from the blue line, assisted by Jaden Anderson (Aurora, CO) at 16:50, putting the Wild in front after two, 3-1.

In the third, Coquitlam got a goal from Keegan Jones, off assists from Jonathan Irving and Alex Ambrosio at 7:16, drawing the Express to within one, at 3-2. But, Von Ungern would score into the empty net, assisted by Aaron Murray (Chino, CA) at 19:35, giving Wenatchee the 4-2 win.

The Wild outshot Coquitlam 46-28 on the night. Garrett Nieto (Yorba Linda, CA) made 26 saves for Wenatchee, Tyger Howat had 33 saves for the Express. The Wild went 1-4 on the power play and 6 of 6 on the penalty kill. “I really like the pace that we played at tonight.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “I thought we probably deserved to score another goal or two, but their goaltender played exceptionally well. At the end we bent but we didn’t break, we kind of let them back in the hockey game after being a little bit one-sided for two-and-a-half periods, the last ten we kind of let them back in a bit. Again, we found a way to win today. We need to take the win and move on, get our rest tomorrow and then go back to work, try to get better next week.”

With the win, Wenatchee improves to 13-5-2-1 on the season, still in sole possession of first in the Mainland Division, while Coquitlam slips to 7-10-1-2. The Wild are home next weekend, hosting Prince George on Friday, November 13^th and Vernon on Saturday, November 14th at the Town Toyota Center starting at 7:05pm PST both nights. Wild Comes Back To Top Coquitlam

Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild got back on the winning track Friday, coming from behind to defeat the Coquitlam Express 4-2, in front of 2,712 at the Town Toyota Center.

Wenatchee would score the lone goal of the opening period, as Blake Christensen (Lauderhill, FL) slipped one home from the slot, assisted by Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) and Brandon Puricelli (St. Louis, MO) at 13:50, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead after one.

In the second, Coquitlam would score twice to take the lead. Austin McIlmurray scored from Luca Leone and Colton Kerfoot at 4:20, then Kerfoot scored on the power play from Charlie Barrow at 8:05, putting the Express up 2-1. However, Wenatchee would bounce back with a pair of their own. Mike Coyne (Buffalo, NY) slid home a backhander in tight, assisted by Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) and Kyle Stephan (Barrie, ON) at 11:47, tying the game 2-2. Then, not quite two minutes later, a Joe Drabin (Rochester, NY) shot creeped across the goal line for the go ahead marker. The assist went to Logan Milliken (Canmore, AB) at 13:45, giving the Wild a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.

Early in the third, Wenatchee would up the lead to two, as Aaron Murray (Chino, CA) came off the bench on a change and ripped a sweep shot into the goal from above the left wing circle. The assists went to Harris and Drabin just 1:49 into the period. The Wild would hold on from there for the 4-2 win.

Wenatchee outshot Coquitlam 37-27 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 25 saves for the Wild, Lawson Fenton had 33 saves for Coquitlam. Wenatchee was 0-for-6 on the power play and 1 of 2 on the penalty kill. “I thought it was a pretty good hockey game.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “I thought both teams competed pretty hard. I thought we got better as the game went on. I think teams are having a plan to try to clog up the sides a little bit and so we need to go a little more side to side or low to high. ”

Wolves Stay Unbeaten In NPHL

Wenatchee, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wolves, proud members of the Northern Pacific Hockey League, had another successful weekend in the NPHL, winning both games played this past weekend, defeating the Seattle Ravens 3-0 on Saturday, October 31^st, then rolling past the West Sound Warriors 10-1 on Sunday, November 1^st.

In Saturday’s 3-0 win over Seattle, Tom Ignatovich (Seattle, WA), Thomas Hendry (Salt Lake City, UT) and Hayden Givens (Portland, OR) scored goals, while Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) stopped all 10 shots he faced. The Wolves were 0-for-2 on the power play and 3-of-3 on the penalty kill.

In Sunday’s 10-1 win over West Sound, Griffin Wiencek (Sherwood, OR) led the way with 3 goals and an assist, while Hayden Givens (Portland, OR) had 2 goals and 3 assists. Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) stopped 3 of the 4 shots he faced. Wenatchee went 1-for-5 on the power play and 3-of-3 on the penalty kill.
