Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild, fresh off a two-game sweep of Prince George, hit the road Sunday and white-washed the Surrey Eagles 6-0 at the South Surrey Arena..

After a delayed start to the game, the Wild came out firing, scoring twice in the game’s opening minutes. Charlie Combs (St. Louis, MO) scored from Logan Milliken (Canmore, AL) at 57 seconds, then Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) lit the lamp with an unassisted goal at 2:31, giving Wenatchee a 2-0 lead after one.

In the second, Bryan Yoon (Parker, CO) scored, assisted by Blake Christensen (Lauderhill, FL) and Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV) at 10:45, followed by a Brandon Puricelli (St. Louis, MO) goal, assisted by Troy Conzo (Nesconset, NY) and Austin Chavez (Corona, CA) at 15:06, giving the Wild a 4-0 advantage through 40 minutes.

Wenatchee would add to the lead with a pair of goals in the third. Christensen scored from Combs at 9:23, then Combs would score his second of the game, assisted by Christensen and Harris at 16:11, giving the Wild the 6-0 victory.

Wenatchee outshot the Eagles 41-23 for the game. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 23 saves for his fifth shutout of the season for the Wild, while Justin Laforest had 35 stops for Surrey. Wenatchee went 0-for-5 on the power play and 2-of-2 on the penalty kill. “With our third game in three days, I was extremely pleased with the energy and the effort we came out with this afternoon in Surrey.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “All four lines played well, all six D and really Chase Perry made three or four huge stops to keep the game at 2-0 and it allowed us to turn it into a runaway. Perry had a couple of big saves that could have changed the game around.”

Wenatchee, winners of eight straight, improves to 32-15-2-3 on the season, staying within two points of first-place Chilliwack in the Mainland Division; the Eagles slip to7-43-0-2. The Wild next plays at Chilliwack on Wednesday, February 17^th, at 7:00pm, then returns home to host Victoria on Friday, February 19^th and Cowichan Valley on Saturday, February 20^th, 7:05pm both nights at the Town Toyota Center..

Wild Crowns Spruce Kings In Overtime

Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee Wild battled a determined Prince George Spruce Kings squad into overtime Saturday, coming from a late third period deficit to win 3-2, before 3,217 at the Town Toyota Center.

After a scoreless first period in which the Wild outshot Prince George 13-3, Wenatchee would grab the lead on an August Von Ungern (Boise, ID) shot, crammed in at the left post, just before the net came off the line. Brandon Puricelli (St. Louis, MO) assisted at 1:50, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead. The Spruce Kings tied it up late in the period, as Kyle Johnson scored from Tanner Campbell at 14:52, knotting the game 1-1 through 40 minutes.

In the third, Prince George took the lead. Cavin Tilsley scored from Adam Burnett and Matthew Stief at 14:02, for a 2-1 Spruce Kings lead. However, Tyler Rockwell (San Jose, CA) scored from the left point on a deflection at 14:02 to tie it for Wenatchee. Von Ungern assisted to square the game 2-2 and force overtime.

In the extra session, Troy Conzo (Nesconset, NY) cut through the right wing circle and fired towards the goal. The puck deflected off a defenders’ stick and in at 2:02, off an assist from Von Ungern, giving the Wild the 3-2 win.

Wenatchee outshot Prince George 43-10 in the game. Garrett Nieto (Yorba Linda, CA) made 8 saves for the Wild, while Liam McCloskey made 40 saves for the Spruce Kings. Wenatchee went 0-for-5 on the power play and 2-of-3 on the penalty kill. “Well, anytime you outshoot a team 43-10, you definitely deserve to win.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “We made things pretty hard on ourselves tonight, by not burying our chances. I thought we came out the first couple of shifts and had great energy then we lost it by taking a penalty. We just didn’t bear down on our chances but at the end this time of the year, to get down in the third and find a way to come back is a good sign and then to win in overtime is also a good sign.”

The Wild, winners of seven straight, improves to 31-15-2-3 on the season, moving to within two points of first-place Chilliwack in the Mainland Division; the Spruce Kings slip to12-36-3-2. Wenatchee travels to Surrey to meet the Eagles at 4:00pm on Sunday, February 14^th, and then plays at Chilliwack on Wednesday, February 17^th, at 7:00pm.

Wenatchee, WA. – For the fourth straight game it was 2-0 after one, but unlike the other three it was the Wenatchee Wild on top and they rode that lead to a 6-1 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings Friday night, in front of 3,221 fans at the Town Toyota Center.

Joe Drabin (Rochester, NY) scored first, firing home a deflected shot from the right circle. Dakota Raabe (Dana Point, CA) and Konsta Jaske (Samammish, WA) assisted at 10:39, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead. Then, at 13:36, Troy Conzo (Nesconset, NY) banged home a rebound in tight, assisted by Brandon Puricelli (St. Louis, MO) and August Von Ungern (Boise, ID), putting Wenatchee on top 2-0 after one.

The Spruce Kings got on the board early in the second, as Ben Poisson scored. Braiden Epp and Parker Colley assisted at 1:36, cutting the Wild lead to 2-1. However, that was as close as Prince George would get. Raabe would flip home a short pass from Charlie Combs (St. Louis, MO) and Tyler Rockwell (San Jose, CA) at 7:17, giving Wenatchee a 3-1 advantage through two.

In the third, the Wild would ring the bell three times to put the game away. Combs roofed a backhander home from the slot-side of the right circle at 1:20, assisted by Blake Christensen (Lauderhill, FL) and Brendan Harris (Las Vegas, NV), putting Wenatchee up 4-1. Colin Burston (Winnipeg, MB) then scored from Combs and Kyle Stephan (Barrie, ON) at 3:27, upping the Wild lead to 5-1. Finally, at 11:12, Stephan scored from Burston and Jaske, sending Wenatchee on their way to the 6-1 win.

The Wild outshot the Spruce Kings 32-17 for the game. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 16 saves for Wenatchee, while Liam McCloskey and Joseph McLeod combined to make 26 saves for Prince George. The Wild went 2-for-4 on the power play and 3-of-3 on the penalty kill. “All around, pretty good effort.” said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “Any time you score six goals you’re fortunate. We had good goaltending, scored a couple of power play goals, penalty kill was good. All the way around I thought all six D played well. We rolled four lines all night, so I was pleased with the effort. I know we’ll need a big effort to collect both points tomorrow night.”

With their season-high sixth straight win, Wenatchee improves to 30-15-2-3 on the season; the Spruce Kings slip to12-36-3-1. The Wild remains home to host Prince George again on Saturday, February 13^th, 7:05pm at the Town Toyota Center. Wenatchee then travels to Surrey to meet the Eagles at 4:00pm on Sunday, February 14^th.
