30 Players Invited to 2013 U.S. Women's National Under-18 Evaluation Camp
Event Set for Aug. 13-18 in Lake Placid in Preparation for 2013 Under-18 Series vs. Canada
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey today announced the 30 players that have been invited to the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Evaluation Camp, Aug. 13-18, in Lake Placid, N.Y. The players will be auditioning for spots on the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team that will take part in the 2013 Under-18 Series vs. Canada, Aug. 22-25, in Lake Placid. The 22-player roster will be announced on Aug. 19 with practice sessions starting that day.

The camp will open with testing on Aug. 13 at Lake Placid's Olympic Center prior to taking the ice on Aug. 14 at the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena. A full on-ice schedule is listed below and a complete list of players invited to the 2013 U.S. Women's National Under-18 Evaluation Camp can be found here. Players will be split into two teams (blue and white) for the duration of camp and all on-ice sessions are open to the public.
Of the 30 players attending, Sydney Baldwin (Shorewood/Minn.), Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, N.Y.), Maddie Rolfes(West Des Moines, Iowa) Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Conn.), Taylor Williamson (Edina, Minn.) and Grace Zarecki (Chicago, Ill.) were members of the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Evaluation Camp last year that advanced to the Under-18 Series vs. Canada.

In addition to Baldwin, Cianfarano, Rolfes, and Zarecki, Kenzie Kent (Norwell, Mass.), Lexie Laing (Marblehead, Mass.), Maliya Rodgers (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Baylee Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis.) helped the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team collect the silver medal this past January at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's Under-18 World Championship in Heinola, Finland.
