... There is a way to tame the iOS 7 parallax effect. In the Settings > General > Accessibility menu, there's a Reduce Motion option that does just what its name suggests, though it does not alter the app transition animation.

Bismarck, ND. – The Bismarck Bobcats withstood a late charge by the Wenatchee Wild Friday night, getting a goal late in regulation for a 4-3 win at the VFW Sports Center.

Bismarck took the lead just shy of the midway point of the opening period on a goal from the left wing circle by Filip Starzynski, assisted by Stanislav Dzakhov and Evan Giesler at 9:25.

The Bobcats would increase the lead to 2-0 with a power play goal at 11:34 of the second period as Dzakhov banged one home in tight, assisted by Jared Dedenbach and Matt Anders. Wenatchee would get one back moments later on a David Powlowski (Rochester, New York) tapped home a crossing pass out in front of the Bismarck goal. Parker Tuomie (Biemerhaven, Germany) and Justin Plate (Rancho San Marg, California) drew the assists at 13:22, slicing the Bobcat lead to 2-1. Traffic out in front of Wild goaltender Mackenzie Sawyer (Landsdowne, Canada) created an opportunity that Bismarck’s Brendan Harris cashed in on, assisted by Tyler Dunagan at 17:27, giving the Cats a 3-1 lead through 40 minutes.

Wenatchee would reduce the deficit just past the halfway point of the third, when River Rymsha (Huntington Woods, Michigan) scored an unassisted goal off a goal mouth scramble on the end of a 3-on-2 break. The goal, coming at 10:52 of the third, made it a 3-2 game. Rymsha scored again at 15:18, blasting a power play point shot past Bismarck goaltender Aaron Nelson. Nicklas Balboa (San Francisco, California) and James Mathias (Ontario, California) assisted on the goal that tied the game 3-3. The Bobcats got the lead back as Chris Diver put a redirect shot into the goal at 18:44. Daniel Kovar and Giesler assisted, putting Bismarck back on top 4-3. The Wild would pull the goaltender in the final minute and pressed the attack, but weren’t able to get the equalizer and the Bobcats hung on for the one-goal win.

“We got better as the game went on” said Wenatchee Head Coach Bliss Littler. “We took four stick penalties, which generally cost you. But I think we battled pretty hard in the third and gave ourselves a chance, we just kind of shot ourselves in the foot a little bit. I think it was a good learning experience for us.”

Bismarck outshot the Wild on the night 35-23. Wenatchee was 1-for-2 on the power play and 4-of-5 on the penalty kill.

The Bobcats improve to 3-2-0; The Wild is now 3-2-0 as well.

The Wild plays in Bismarck again tomorrow (Saturday) night at 5:15pm PDT. Regina, SK. - Last week we identified the stars in our defensive secondary as SAM linebacker and UWO grad Craig Butler, Halfbacks Dwight Anderson and Terrell Maze, cornerbacks Prince Miller and Carlos Thomas, and Safety Tyron Brackenridge; and I may have (over) mentioned the fact that the basic principles of a defensive back and an offensive lineman are the same. They react to the receivers; we react to the d-line. They are asked to do everything their opponent does- except backwards! And we are asked to mirror our on rushers- going backwards! And they need to work together to have any success just the same as we do.
