Where were you 8 years ago today?

It was 8 years ago today, on September 11th, 2001, that terrorists hijacked, then flew passenger jets into both of the tall towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and into a field in Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 people(including the hijackers) lost their lives in the attacks, in the worst case of terrorism on American soil.

I was with my Dad outside Portland, Oregon and he woke me up that morning, saying: "New York's being attacked!" I then, like so many Americans, watched the TV reports in utter horror, wondering why someone would do such a dastardly thing.

Now, 8 years later, we are, as a friend of mine put it this morning, "living like it's 9/10." Back then, we never imagined it could happen, and now some imagine it could never happen again. We can all hope and pray that it never does, but we must not become complacent and must guard against such acts of terrorism and prevent them from happening, NOT expect it won't happen.

Never, ever forget that day. Never, ever forget the innocent people who died that day. Never, ever forget the cowards who did this.

Never, ever forget.

God bless America!

It may play the next one automatically, or you may have to click the little box to bring the thumbnails back up.
