My wife finally updated her blog!!!!!!!! And, it was well worth the 543 day wait. She is, without a doubt, the cleverest person I know. (And she makes a pretty good Crock Pot breakfast casserole too!) Her blog, Ramblings of a Random Mind is linked on the right side of this blog. Or, if you're directionally challenged like I sometimes am, click here.

A seven spot in last night's eighth inning turned a 3-2 deficit into a 9-3 win for the Tampa Bay Rays over the Toronto Blue Jays in front of 23,780 at Tropicana Field. John Jaso hit his first major league homer with a man aboard in the fifth, then the Rays hung 7 on the board in the eighth, hi-lited by a two-run single by Ben Zobrist. Tampa Bay is now 13-5 and lead the Yankees by 1/2 game in the A.L. East. The Rays wrap up their three-game set with Toronto this afternoon, 1:40pm EDT first pitch on 620AM WDAE and Sun Sports TV.

If you're in the mood for some college baseball today, check out my friend Richard Dow's call of today's game between the McNeese State Cowboys and the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. You can find the game, by heading to http://www.mcneesesports.com/, then clicking on the 1470 KLCL banner. First pitch is set for 2:00pm EDT.

Speaking of the Rays, just under 24,000 for a Saturday home game, even though they have the best record in baseball? Is the Tampa Bay area just not hot for regular season baseball, or is it as much a combination of a cruddy stadium that's not all that easy to get to? This area has what may seem to be a well-deserved reputation of not being a "baseball town." Bad ballpark, less than ideal location, team/stadium staff that wouldn't know good customer service even if it jumped up and bit them on the....well, you get the idea.

The Tampa Bay Storm is on the road today for an AFL game with the Milwaukee Iron. The Storm enters the game at 1-1-0, Milwaukee is 2-0-0. Kickoff is set for 5:00pm EDT on 1250AM WHNZ.

Oh, before I forget: Nascar's Nationwide Series race was rained out yesterday at Talladega. Today's schedule has the Sprint Cup racing going green at 1:00pm EDT on Fox, with the Nationwide race taking the track at 5:30pm EDT on ESPN2.

That's it for today. Enjoy your Sunday!

It may play the next one automatically, or you may have to click the little box to bring the thumbnails back up.
