
DETROIT -- Red Wings broadcaster Paul Woods remembered Bobby Kromm as a coach who was way ahead of his time, whose career in Detroit ended before it should have.
Kromm, who won the Jack Adams Award as NHL coach of the year during his first season with the Red Wings in 1977-78, died Wednesday from complications of colon cancer. He had turned 82 on Tuesday.
