The Edmonton Oilers, with the first pick of the 2010 NHL entry draft, selected Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires.
Hall, a 6'0" 180lb center from Calgary, Alberta, is a former Ontario Hockey League rookie of the year, the only player to win the Memorial Cup MVP trophy two straight years, and the first-ever player to be drafted #1 in the same year he won Memorial Cup MVP honors.
Hall tallied 123 goals, 157 assists and 138 penalty minutes in 183 games over the past three seasons with Windsor, which won the Memorial Cup the past two seasons. In the OHL playoffs over the last three years, Hall had 35 goals, 41 assists and 46 pnalty minutes in 44 games. In 10 games over the last two Memorial Cups, he had 7 goals, 10 assists and 10 penalty minutes.
