Tampa Bay Juniors report



The Tampa Bay Juniors hosted the Hampton Roads Whalers on Thursday and Friday, October 28th and 29th. In the SEJHL contest on the 28th, Hampton Roads scored three times in the third period to break open a 3-3 tie and win, 6-3. Ben Winter, Cody Post and Zack White scored for Tampa Bay, while Dominic Calandra made 37 saves.

On Friday the 29th, the Tampa Bay Juniors SEJHL team got three goals from Michael Hirschauer and one each from Ben Winter and Zack Cantrell, to beat the Whalers 5-1. Jordan Krueger was sharp in goal, making 23 saves.

On Thursday, October 28th, the Tampa Bay MJHL Juniors won 7-4 over Hampton Roads. Dustin Disbro and Daniel Clifford scored twice each and Paul Lochner, Pat Trizis and David once each for the win. Braxton Schulz made 38 saves for Tampa Bay, which went 3-for-8 on the power play.

On Friday, October 29th, Tampa Bay's MJHL team rolled to a 4-0 win over the Whalers. Evan Weiss made 43 saves for his first shutout of the season, while Paul Lochner, Richard Hill, Pat Trizis and Dustin Disbro scored the goals.

The Tampa Bay MJHL Juniors hit the road Saturday and Sunday, November 6th and 7th to take on the East Coast Eagles. On Saturday, November 6th, Anthony Feldman and Patrick Rodgers scored goals, while Braxton Schulz made 29 saves but it wasn't enough, at the Eagles won, 4-2.

On Sunday, November 7th, Patrick Rodgers scored twice, including the game-winner at 4:52 of overtime, as Tampa Bay knocked off the Eagles 6-5. Pat Trizis, Ryan Nelson, David Cross and Richard Hill each scored a goal, and Evan Weiss made 24 saves.

On Saturday, October 30th, the Tampa Bay MJHL Juniors played an exhibition game with the Tampa Bay Alumni, a team made up of ex-NHL and NCAA D-1 players. Aaron Gonzales, Paul Lochner, Chase Anderson, Andrew Silvers, Pat Trizis andPatrick Rodgers scored for the Juniors, while Braxton Schulz and Evan Weiss combined to make 36 saves, in an 11-6 Alumni win. Juniors' Coach Brett Strot skated for the Alumni and had 2 assists.

The Tampa Bay SEJHL Juniors are currently tied for third with the Hampton Roads Whalers, 10 points behind first place Atlanta. Tampa Bay, which has a record of 5-10-0-0, next plays at the Warrior Classic Showcase on November 12th, 13th and 14th.

The Tampa Bay MJHL Juniors are third in the MJHL with a record of 8-9-0-0, 9 points behind first place Palm Beach. Their next action is November 20th and 21st at Hampton Roads.
