Yale University Retains No. 1 Ranking in USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Yale University retains the No. 1 ranking in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll after splitting a weekend series with Brown University. The Bulldogs, who boast a 15-2-0 record, collected 500 points and 26 first-place votes to claim the top spot for the sixth week in a row.

The University of North Dakota sits at No. 2 with 479 points and the remaining eight first-place votes after a weekend split with the University of Minnesota, while Boston College (404) claims the No. 3 spot. The University of Denver (380) advances two places to No. 4 after posting a 1-0-1 record against Minnesota State University, while the University of Minnesota Duluth (370) rounds out the top five after registering a win and a loss against then-No.11 University of Wisconsin.

This weekend features a Western Collegiate Hockey Association match-up between No. 2 University of North Dakota and No. 15 University of Nebraska Omaha.

NOTES: The WCHA leads all conferences with five ranked teams, while Hockey East boasts four ranked programs, and the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and ECAC Hockey each have three ... A total of 20 teams received votes.

ABOUT THE POLL: The 16th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association.
