ST PETERSBURG -- Tropicana Field no longer feels like home.
Tuesday night, the Yankees (21-19) magnified that vibe in a 6-2 win over the Rays (24-18) with 27,123 watching. The Rays finished their five-game homestand with a 2-3 mark to move to 11-13 at Tropicana Field this season.
Meanwhile, the Yankees snapped a six-game losing streak with the win while moving to within two games of the first-place Rays.

In Salt Lake City, Utah, a woman approached the undercover officer who was working on a corner. The woman was carrying a white food container and asked the undercover officer for $10 worth of cocaine. But instead of paying $10, the woman stated that she only had $2 and an Olive Garden salad. 

DENVER -- The standings suggest that the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies will remain the chief rivals for the National League West title through the rest of the season.
But if the Giants don't improve upon their 5-3 loss Tuesday to Colorado, which swept the two-game series, there won't be any two-team race. At least it won't involve the Giants.

1963The Beatles began their third tour of the U.K. in Slough, England. They were supporting Roy Orbison with Gerry & the Pacemakers.

1964 - Paul McCartney was interviewed by David Frost on BBC-TVs "A Degree Of Frost."

1965 - The Beatles appeared on the NBC-TV special "The Best on Record." The show featured recent Grammy Winners.

1967 - At Olympic Studios, in Barnes, London, John Lennon and Paul McCartney contributed backing vocals for the Rolling Stones song "We Love You."

1992 - Sweden's King Carl Gustaf presented the first Polar Music Prize to Paul McCartney.

1993 - In an article in "USA Today" Paul McCartney talked about the 1985 Michael Jackson takeover of the Lennon and McCartney songwriting legacy.


Now that Leonardo DiCaprio has split from Bar Refaeli, it appears that he and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively have been spending time together. The pair were introduced to each other during a dinner late last year. Sources reportedly spotted the pair sticking close to each other in Cannes over the weekend.
