Exter Named Assistant Coach for Ohio State University

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Joe Exter, who has spent the last four years as the first full-time goaltending coach at USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, has resigned to accept a position as assistant coach at Ohio State University.

Exter is also the coordinator of the revolutionary Warren Strelow National Goaltending Mentor Program, which is designed to recruit, develop and produce elite goaltenders in the United States.

“Joe is a dynamic coach with a great future who in four years, took a new position and built a strong national program for goaltenders,” said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations for the NTDP. “We look forward to following his career.”

A nationwide search for Exter’s replacement is underway.

There's a good chance that about 11% of the text messages you send and receive are deceptive. This is according to researchers at Cornell University, who examined nearly 5,400 texts and found that 10.7% of them are used to tell people we're some place we're not, or that we "have to go" when we really just want to end a conversation.

PHOENIX -- Rays outfielder Matt Joyce traveled to Phoenix on Sunday along with his fiancée and other various family members. His cheering section, however, extends much wider than that.
Joining Joyce in the American League dugout on Tuesday will be teammates David Price and James Shields, who despite not being active members of the American League roster, plan to stay plenty engaged in the All-Star Game. And in particular, they're hopeful that Joyce will get his chance to shine.
"I'm going to cheer my heart out for him," Shields said. "There's no doubt."

PHOENIX -- Large crowds of media members consumed the surrounding areas where each of the reigning world champion Giants' All-Star Game representatives sat inside a hotel ballroom in the desert Monday.
Tim Lincecum, nearing veteran status at the Midsummer Classic, earned the largest space of the bunch in a corner, where a perfect view of his four teammates stared back at him during the hour-long session.
"Just representing San Francisco and being acknowledged not necessarily for what we did last year but the guys that have come through and pitched well and hit well this season, it's great to see," he said. "These are the kind of guys that are becoming perennial All-Stars. And with our coaches here, it makes it feel like an at-home atmosphere."
