BALTIMORE, Md. -- There was a new opponent in a new city with a new challenge for Tampa Bay. The result proved to be the same for the streaking and suddenly in-contention Rays.

Ben Zobrist drove in three runs and Jeff Niemann rebounded from consecutive poor outings with 7 2/3 strong innings as the Rays continued their winning ways with a 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday.

Arizona police busted a so-called church, the Phoenix Goddess Temple, that was actually a front for prostitution. (People went there to be born again. Sometimes three or four times a week.)

SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. -- Don't overanalyze the Giants' offensive outburst, which extended to a second game with Monday's 8-3 victory over the San Diego Padres.

Just consider the theories of Cody Ross, who commanded attention during the game with his 3-for-4 performance and after it with his logic.

The Giants hadn't scored more than 10 runs in back-to-back games at home all season. They've now amassed 16. Ross, Carlos Beltran and Pablo Sandoval went deep to account for San Francisco's first three-homer game at AT&T Park this year.

Whether the Giants are hitting more proficiently because they're more relaxed, or vice versa, is subject to debate.

A couple of NFL teams are using iPads as playbooks. And the league has reminded every team that iPads apply are a no-no during the game. From 90 minutes before kickoff until the end of a game, there's absolutely no use of iPads by anyone: Not coaches, not players.
