Little Named to 2011 U.S. Men's National Select Team

Forward to replace Bochenski


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Broc Little (Phoenix, Ariz./Yale University) has been named to the 2011 U.S. Men's National Select Team, it was announced today by USA Hockey.

Little is currently in his first season with VIK Vasteras of HockeyAllsvenskan in Sweden. Prior to joining Vasteras, Little played four seasons (2007-11) at Yale University where he posted 72 goals and 142 points, both fifth on the school's career charts. He received the Mallory Award in 2011, Yale University's most prestigous honor for a senior male student-athlete.

The U.S. Men's National Select Team will compete at the Deutschland Cup from Nov. 11-13, in Munich, Germany. Team USA opens play against Slovakia on Nov. 11 at 10:15 a.m. EST. A full schedule is below.

NOTES: Little replaces Brandon Bochenski (Blaine, Minn./University of North Dakota) on the Team USA roster ... The U.S. roster includes 12 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders ... Twelve members of Team USA have National Hockey League experience, while 20 played U.S. college hockey ... The Deutschland Cup has been held every year since 1987 and will feature teams from Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland and the United States ... Team USA has participated in the Deutschland Cup on six occasions (2002-05, 2007, 2009). The U.S. won the tournament in 2003 and 2004, garnered second-place finishes in 2007 and 2009 and finished third in 2005 ... Jim Johannson, USA Hockey's assistant executive director of hockey operations, will serve as general manager of the team. Don Waddell, long-time head coach and general manager in the National Hockey League and International Hockey League, will serve as head coach with Chris Chelios, advisor to hockey operations of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings, and Bill Guerin, player development coach of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, serving as assistant coaches.
