Robin Gibb Passes On

Following a rally last month where ROBIN GIBB, age 62, came out of a coma brought on by a battle with pneumonia, the former BEE GEE has now passed on following a lengthy battle with liver cancer and intestinal surgery.

GIBB had been hospitalized recently for intestinal surgery that caused him to miss the LONDON premiere of his classical "Titanic Requiem." And he'd been hospitalized last year for stomach and colon problems, which was later confirmed to be colon cancer that had spread to his liver. GIBB had recently announced that he was in remission.

ROBIN is survived by his wife DWINA, brother BARRY, 65, daughter MELISSA, 37, and sons SPENCER, 39, and ROBIN-JOHN, 29.

As a member of the BEE GEES, ROBIN and his brothers BARRY and MAURICE had an amazing string of hits that led to seven GRAMMY AWARDS for songs like "How Deep Is Your Love," three for "Saturday Night Fever," "Stayin' Alive" and "Guilty" -- plus a 2000 Lifetime Achievement Award, a 2003 Legend Award, and a 2004 Hall Of Fame Award for "Saturday Night Fever."

ROBIN's twin brother MAURICE passed on in 2003 at the age of 53 from intestinal issues
