2012 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Headed To Dallas on Oct. 15

Ceremony to be Held in the Lone Star State for First Time Ever

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2012, which includes Lou Lamoriello (Providence, R.I.), Mike Modano (Livonia, Mich.) and Eddie Olczyk (Palos Heights, Ill.), will be formally enshrined to the Hall on Monday, Oct. 15, in Dallas, Texas, it was announced by USA Hockey today.

It will mark the first time ever the Lone Star State has hosted the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner.

"The pledge of support from the Dallas Stars and their encouragement to bring this event to Dallas was a key factor in our decision," said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. "The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame is the nation's shrine and it's terrific to bring the formal induction ceremony and dinner to Texas. The Class of 2012 is extraordinary and we anticipate a record crowd for what will be a spectacular evening."

The 40th annual induction ceremony and dinner will be staged on the ice at Plaza of the Americas in Dallas, with the adjacent Dallas Marriott City Center serving as the host hotel.

Tickets to the event will go on sale Wednesday, Aug., 15, at 12:00 p.m. EDT. Ticket information and sponsorship opportunities will be available at USHockeyHallofFame.com.

Notes: USA Hockey took over responsibilties for the selection process and induction event associated with the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006 and has staged induction ceremonies in Grand Forks, N.D., (2007), Denver (2008), Boston (2009), Buffalo, N.Y. (2010) and Chicago (2011). The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame was founded in 1973. To date, there are 153 enshrined members in the Hall. Julie Juarez Named Manager of Social Media and Communications

Juarez Will Be Primary Contact for U.S. Women's National Team Program

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Julie Juarez has been named manager of social media and communications at USA Hockey and will begin her duties on Monday (Aug. 6).

Juarez served as a media relations assistant for the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks during the 2011-12 season. She also worked with the Sharks during the 2006-07 campaign as a media relations intern.

Juarez earned her bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in 2007 and worked in her alma mater's athletic media relations department from 2009-11. She publicized a variety of sports, including women's soccer, men's and women's water polo, baseball and softball. While at Santa Clara she also worked part-time in spearheading social media efforts for the Santa Clara Convention & Visitors Bureau.

She also spent a year-and-a-half as part of the Stanford University athletic media relations staff beginning in January of 2008.

Juarez will be the primary contact for the U.S. Women's National Team Program and also oversee USA Hockey's social media efforts.

NOTES: Juarez played NCAA Division I soccer at Santa Clara. She was the starting goalkeeper from 2003-06 and earned All-America honors while helping the Broncos to the 2004 NCAA Women's College Cup ... Juarez is a lifelong hockey fan who began playing six years ago and is also a hockey coach and official.
