A civil lawsuit has been filed against Burger King. The lawsuit stems from an incident last year in New Mexico in which plaintiff Robert DeYapp claims that when he asked employees to reheat his onion rings, the store manager came after him with a switchblade knife and a Taser.

Robin Thicke tried and tried hard to save his marriage, but it didn’t work. A source says Paula Patton has filed for divorce. Paula cites the usual — irreconcilable differences. She wants joint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old son Julian.

1919 - 
The Cincinnati Reds won the World Series. The win would be later tainted when 8 Chicago White Sox were charged with throwing the game. The incident became known as the "Black Sox" scandal. 

1974 - The Washington Capitals played their first NHL game. 

2000 - Brett Hull (Dallas Stars) scored his 611th NHL goal. The goal allowed him to pass his father, Bobby Hull, on the all time scoring list bringing him to number 9. 

2001 - Prosecutors in Miami, FL, announced that they would seek a prison sentence if O.J. Simpson was convicted in his road rage trial. Jury selection began for the trial just after the announcement. 

2002 - The L.A. Kings retired Wayne Gretzky's #99.


What will trick-or-treaters want in their bags this year? Same as last year — make it chocolate. In all of 2013 nearly $13 billion was spent on chocolate in the United States. And while not all of that was spent for Halloween night, a big chunk it was. Reese's was the top candy handed out last Halloween.
