Police in Stockholm, Sweden, say a boy was home alone when he called emergency services and reported hearing a loud thump, which he suspected could be a burglar. Police arrived and searched the area around the home to verify no one was attempting to break into the residence. The 11-year-old was scared so an officer stuck around — and helped the boy with his math homework.

A “wet Willy” practical joke landed a Minnesota man in jail. Riley Swearingen was getting on a bus (in Mankato) after the bars closed early Saturday when police say he walked up behind a police sergeant, licked his fingers and poked them in both the officer’s ears. Swearingen was charged with fourth-degree assault on a peace officer involving bodily fluid and disruptive intoxication.
