U.S. National Sled Hockey Team to Hold Camp Beginning Jan. 23
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2014-15 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will conduct its third training camp of the season Jan. 23-24 at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, North Carolina. The camp will be the final preparation for the 2015 World Sled Hockey Challenge that will take place Feb. 1-7 in Leduc, Alberta.
The United States roster is highlighted by captain Josh Sweeney (Phoenix, Ariz.); alternate captains Nikko Landeros (Johnstown, Colo.) and Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.); and goaltenderSteve Cash (Overland, Mo.). For a complete U.S. roster, click here.

2015 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Nominations Now Being Accepted
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nominations for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2015 are being accepted through Friday, February 13, it was announced today by USA Hockey.
The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame includes players, coaches, on-ice officials, administrators, support personnel, and teams that have made extraordinary contribution to hockey in the United States.
Anyone willing to substantiate the candidacy of a particular individual or team may nominate. The official nomination form can be found here.
The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2015 will be unveiled this summer.
NOTES: The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2014, the 42nd in the history of the Hall, included Karyn Bye Dietz, Brian Rafalski, Jeff Sauer and Lou Vairo ... Since USA Hockey assumed responsibility for the event in 2007, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner has been held in Grand Forks, North Dakota (2007), Denver (2008), Boston (2009), Buffalo (2010), Chicago (2011), Dallas (2012), Detroit (2013) and Minneapolis (2014)... Brian Fishman Internship Applications Now Being Accepted
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Applications are now being accepted for the 17th annual Brian Fishman Internship. The 2015-16 Brian Fishman Intern will work in the communications department at USA Hockey's national office in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for a 12-month period beginning in June followed by a second 12-month period in Ann Arbor, Michigan, home of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program.
The Brian Fishman Internship is awarded annually to an outstanding college graduate pursuing a career in athletic communications. It was established in 1999 in honor of the late Brian Fishman, who served as the manager of communications and marketing for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program. He died unexpectedly on Jan. 7, 1999, at age 28.
The Brian Fishman Intern will assist with various media and public relations projects, event promotions/operations and publishing initiatives, including work with USA Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey and the world's most widely circulated hockey magazine.
Applications must be received by USA Hockey no later than Friday, March 20. Those interested should forward a completed application form, current resume, list of references and samples of work produced. Applicants must also submit a brief essay (400-500 words) in which they detail their interest in The Brian Fishman Internship and relate their personal and professional characteristics to those that were reflective of Brian, including determination, integrity and a love of hockey.

Successful candidates will have gained substantial experience working in their college or university sports information office. Preference also will be given to those candidates who have earned an undergraduate degree in journalism, English, communications, sports management or a related field. Applicants should represent the high ideals character by Brian in both the personal and professional aspects of his life, including determination, integrity and enthusiasm.
The recipient of The Brian Fishman Internship will be chosen by a committee that includes representatives of print and broadcast media, the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and collegiate athletic departments.

A baby who was abandoned outside in a box in Russia was saved from freezing to death by a cat. Masha, a long-haired tabby cat, came upon the box and crawled inside. She laid down with the baby keeping him warm so that he did not freeze to death. It is not known exactly how long Masha took care of the baby, but she meowed loudly to get the attention of a person she saw walking by.

A woman in China stopped her car on the side of the road and got out to get a breath of fresh air. She’s now wishing she would have stopped just a mile sooner after a large tire came off a truck, rolled down the highway and hit her. She suffered several fractured bones but she’ll recover. Police said the truck driver was unaware the tire was missing when they contacted him three hours later.
