The Wenatchee
Wild, preparing for their first season as members of the British Columbia Hockey League,
are pleased to announce the return of Mike Coyne for his third season with the
team.
Coyne, a 6’1” 185 lb. 20 year old right-handed shooting
forward, hails from Kenmore, New York. In two previous seasons with the Wild, he
has tallied 14 goals and 38 assists, while adding 118 penalty minutes. In 15
career playoff games, Coyne, who will also serve as the team’s captain, has 2
goals, 6 assists and 12 penalty minutes.
“I am thrilled to come back for my third and final junior
season” said Coyne. “The energy and excitement is at an all-time high this
summer with the big move to the BCHL and I am lucky to be a part of it. I
cannot wait to be back with the guys that are returning and to meet the new group
that is coming in. This is a special time for hockey in Wenatchee and I cannot
wait to be back in the Wild uniform, playing in front of the best fans in
junior hockey.”
Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler said
that “Mike brings leadership and experience. Mike plays well in all situations.
We’re excited to have him back.”
The Wild will be holding tryout camp July 16th-19th
in The Community Rink at the Town Toyota Center, which will be free and open to
the public. The regular season opens September 11th and 12th,
with a pair of road games against the Prince George Spruce Kings. The team’s
first home game at the Town Toyota Center will be Saturday, October 10th,
against the Coquitlam Express. Season seats for all 28 home games are available
through the Wild office, or by calling 509-888-7825.
