Wenatchee, Wash. –
The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the British Columbia Hockey League, have
announced that Jeff Makowski has committed, as the team prepares for its first
season in the BCHL.
Makowski, a 19 year old left-handed shooting forward from St.
Louis, Missouri, stands 6’1” and weighs 200lbs. He played last season for the
St. Louis Junior Blues U18 team, scoring 13 goals and adding 19 assists in 28
games.
“Big strong kid that is very tough on the puck.” said
Wenatchee Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “Jeff has the ability
to come into the BCHL and have an impact immediately.”
“As this is my first year of junior hockey,” said Makowski, “I
could not be more excited to experience it here in Wenatchee. I got a taste of
how talented the coaches and players are and got a feel for the support from
the community during the tryout camp this past July. I’m excited to play in
this passionate hockey town and for the season to start.”
The Wenatchee Wild opens the BCHL regular season with a pair
of games at the Prince George Spruce Kings on September 11th and 12th.
The home opener will be on October 10th against the Coquitlam
Express. Season tickets for all 28 home games are available at the Wild office
in the Town Toyota Center, or by calling 509-888-7825.
