Wenatchee, Wash. –
The Wenatchee Wolves skated in the recent NAPHL Showcase at the Aston Ice Works
in Aston, Pennsylvania, winning two of the five games played.
On Friday, November 13th the Wolves lost to the
Esmark Stars U18 team 3-0. Wenatchee was outshot 24-12 in the game, with Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) making 21
saves. The Wolves were 0-for-5 on the power play and 5-of-5 on the penalty
kill.
Later on Friday, Wenatchee dropped a 4-1 contest to the
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights U18s. Coleton
Booth (Delta, BC) scored a power play goal for the Wolves, who had 31 saves
from Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA).
Wenatchee went 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-of-3 on the penalty kill.
On Saturday, November 14th, the Wolves lost to
the Long Island Gulls U18 team 3-1. Richie
Stickle (Healy, AK) scored for Wenatchee, Flynn made 14 saves. The Wolves
were 0-for-6 on the power play and 4-of-4 on the penalty kill.
On Sunday, November 15th, Wenatchee blanked the
Washington Little Capitals U18s 2-0. Jonathan
Banovetz (Eagle River, AK) on the power play and Booth scored the goals,
Moore stopped all 33 shots he faced. The Wolves were 1-for-3 on the power play
and 6-f-6 on the penalty kill.
Finally, on Monday, November 16th, Wenatchee
edged the Arizona Bobcats U18s, 2-1. Griffin
Weincek (Sherwood, OR) and Hayden
Givens (Portland, OR) scored for the Wolves, Flynn made 22 saves. Wenatchee
went 0-for-1 on the power play and 2-of-2 on the penalty kill.
Next NPHL action for the Wolves is a two-game series at the Seattle
Ravens on Friday, November 20th at 6:35pm and Sunday, November 21st
at 12:00pm.
