Wenatchee, Wash. –
The Wenatchee Wolves remain unbeaten in NPHL play, winning all three games
played this past weekend. The Wolves topped Bellingham 2-1 on Friday, November
27th, then swept Eugene, winning 5-2 on Saturday, November 29th
and 4-1 on Sunday, November 29th.
In Friday’s game, Andrew
Moessner (Omaha, NE) and Richie
Stickle (Healy, AK) scored the goals and Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 24 saves, leading the Wolves to
the 2-1 win over Bellingham. Wenatchee was 1-for-7 on the power play and 2-of-2
on the penalty kill.
On Saturday, the Wolves scored 3 in the third to break open
a tie game after two, beating Eugene 5-2. Brayden
Durante (New Westminster, BC) paced the attack with two goals, Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) made 19
saves. Wenatchee was 2-for-8 on the power play and 4-of-4 on the penalty kill.
In Sunday’s contest, the Wolves scored 4 times in the third
to grab the win 4-1 over the Generals. Will
Connors (Richland, WA), Hayden
Givens (Portland, OR), Johnny
Schacher (Bakersfield, CA) and Tom
Ignatovich (Seattle, WA) scored the goals, Moore made 10 saves. Wenatchee
was 1-for-5 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill.
“It was a tough weekend for us.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head
Coach Ryan McKelvie. “Three games in three days, one on the road against two of
the better teams in the league. I thought our guys showed a lot of heart and
played great all weekend and found ways to win each one of those games. That
shows a lot about the character of the guys we have in the locker room.”
The Wolves are now 19-0-0 in NPHL play, 10 points ahead of
second-place Bellingham. Wenatchee plays at Eugene on Thursday, December 10th,
then at Tri-Cities on Friday, December 11th, before hosting
Tri-Cities on Saturday, December 12th at 7:35pm both days.
