Victoria, BC. – The
Wenatchee Wild ended their three-game weekend road swing on a high note,
whitewashing the Victoria Grizzlies 2-0 at The Q Centre in Victoria.

(Boise, ID) opened the scoring on a turn-around shot from the right circle. Tyler Rockwell (San Jose, CA) assisted
at 2:11, putting the Wild up 1-0 after one.
In the second, Von Ungern scored again on a rebound in
tight, staking Wenatchee to a 2-0 lead. Troy
Conzo (Nesconset, NY) and Joe Drabin
(Rochester, NY) assisted on the goal at 13:46 of the second.
The Wild would control the play in the third, outshooting
Victoria 9-3 on their way to the 2-0 win.
Wenatchee outshot the Grizzlies 32-22 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 22 saves
for his fourth shutout of the season for the Wild, while Matthew Galajda had 30
saves for Victoria. Wenatchee went 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-of-1 on the
penalty kill. “With our third game of the trip, their first game of the
weekend, I thought we competed pretty hard.” said Wenatchee Wild Head
Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler. “We had some chances to open the game up a
little bit, we weren’t able to convert. They (Victoria) had some great chances
and Chase Perry, he showed the veteran goaltender that he is.”
With the win, the Wild improves to 20-9-3-2 on the season, the
Grizzlies are now 13-18-0-4. Wenatchee closes out their pre-Christmas schedule
with a pair of home games against the Chilliwack Chiefs on Friday and Saturday,
December 18th and 19th.
