Wenatchee, Wash. –
The Wenatchee Wolves took on the West Sound Warriors this past weekend, winning
7-0 in Bremerton on Friday, December 18th and 4-1 in Wenatchee on
Sunday, December 20th.
On Friday in Bremerton, the Wolves outshot West Sound 41-6
in rolling to the 7-0 victory. Seven different players scored goals, led by Johnny Schacher (Bakersfield, CA) and Otto Chao (Salt Lake City, UT), who
tallied a goal and assist each. Bronson
Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 6 saves for Wenatchee, which went 0-for-4 on the
power play and 2-of-2 on the penalty kill.
On Sunday in Wenatchee, the Wolves topped the Warriors 4-1. Thomas Hendry (Salt Lake City, UT)
scored twice, while Griffin Wiencek
(Sherwood, OR) added a goal and an assist. Max
Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) had 15 saves for Wenatchee, which went 0-for-2 on the
power play and 1-of-1 on the penalty kill. “I thought we had a strong first
half to the season.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head Coach Ryan McKelvie. “With a heavy
travel and game schedule, the break should be good for our guys. We will look
to come back strong in January and continue to build on our game every day.”
Wenatchee is now 23-1-0 in the NPHL this season. Their next
action will be in the final NAPHL showcase of the season in Troy, Michigan
January 7th through the 10th. The next NPHL action is set
for Saturday and Sunday, January 17th and 18th, at home
against Bellingham.
