Western Hockey League roundup for Sunday, September 22nd, 2019













Edmonton Oil Kings 4, Red Deer Rebels 1

Edmonton cruised to the home win Sunday afternoon before 5,870 at Rogers Place. Riley Sawchuk scored twice for the Oil Kings, Jesse Seppala and Liam Keeler once each, Todd Scott made 20 saves. Chris Douglas scored the Red Deer goal, Ethan Anders made 28 saves.

Portland Winterhawks 4, Kamloops Blazers 3

Robbie Fromm-Delorme scored early in the third to push Portland to the home win, before 4,507 at the Moda Center. Jaydon Dureau and Jake Gricius scored first period goals for Portland, Johnny Ludvig added a late second period goal for the Hawks. For Kamloops, goal scorers were Logan Stankoven, Montana Onyebuchi and Kobe Mohr. Joel Hofer stopped 30 or 33 shots for Portland, Blazers' goaltender Rayce Ramsay turned aside 28 of 32 shots faced.
