Western Hockey League roundup for Sunday, October 27th, 2019













Calgary Hitmen 5, Regina Pats 4 (OT)

Carson Focht's goal 59 seconds into overtime won the Prairie Classic for Calgary, before a WHL season high of 15,401 at Regina's Mosaic Stadium. Mark Kastelic scored a pair for the Hitmen, Jonas Peterek and Luke Prokop one each. Jack McNaughton made 23 saves. For the Pats, Austin Pratt, Cole Dubinsky, Nikita Sedov and Robbie Holmes had a goal and assist each, Max Paddock had 43 saves.

Moose Jaw Warriors 5, Saskatoon Blades 4 (OT)

Ryder Korczak scored 28 seconds into the extra session to win it for Moose Jaw, in front of 3,051 at SaskTel Centre. Brayden Tracy had a hat trick for the Warriors, Bryden Kiesman's goal with 4:29 left forced overtime. In goal, Bailey Brkin made 26 saves. For the Blades, Chase Wouters and Riley McKay scored twice each, Nolan Maier was called upon to face just 15 shots, stopping only 10.

Prince George Cougars 3, Vancouver Giants 2 (OT)

In the third of Sunday's three overtime games, Ryan Schoettler scored the OT winner with 31 seconds left in the extra session. Reid Perepeluk and Illjah Colina also scored for the Cougars, Tyler Brennan made 37 saves. For the Giants, Tristen Nielsen and Jackson Shepard were the goal scorers, Trent Miner made 30 stops. Attendance at Langley Events Centre was 3,736.
