Medicine Hat Tigers 4, Red Deer Rebels 3 (SO)

4,010 at the Westerner Park Centrium were treated to extra hockey Friday night, with the Tigers grabbing the extra standings point by winning a four round shootout. Brett Kemp opened the scoring for Medicine Hat early in the 2nd period, but then the Rebels offense fired up and grabbed the lead with goals by Ben King, Jaxsen Wiebe and Josh Tarzwell. Corson Hopwell scored for Medicine Hat late in the 2nd, then Nick McCarry's goal for the Tigers with 6:32 left in regulation tied the contest.After a scoreless overtime, King scored for Red Deer in the first round of the shootout to put the Rebels on top. Medicine Hat responded with goals in round 3 by Cole Sillinger and in round 4 by Jonathan Brinkman to take the win. Goaltending was solid on both sides, with Garin Bjorklund making 29 saves for Medicine Hat and Ethan Anders making 27 saves for Red Deer.

Kamloops Blazers 1, Prince George Cougars 0

Matthew Seminoff's goal 38 seconds into the 3rd period and Rayce Ramsay's 23 saves led Kamloops to the win, before 5,416 at the Sandman Centre. Taylor Gauthier made 43 saves for the Cougars. A hooking penalty to Prince George's Ryan Schoettler at 2:03 of the 1st was the only penalty called in the entire game.

Spokane Chiefs 4, Portland Winterhawks 3 (OT)

Jack Finley's goal at 18:43 of the 3rd forced overtime, then his second goal at 4:05 of overtime won it for the Chiefs won it, in front of 6,213 at Moda Center. Erik Atchison and Eli Zummack also scored for Spokane, Lukas Parik made 36 saves. For Portland, Jonas Brondberg, Kishaun Gervais and Lane Gilliss scored goals and Joel Hofer made 22 saves.

Victoria Royals 3, Lethbridge Hurricanes 2

1st period goals by Ty Yoder and power play markers by Kaid Oliver and Gary Haden put Victoria on top Friday night, with 5,598 looking on at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena. Lethbridge rallied in the 3rd, with goals by Dylan Cozens on the power play at 57 seconds and Cozens again at 19:15, but were unable to come up with the equalizer. Shane Farkas made 38 saves for the Royals, Bryan Thompson made 23 saves for the Hurricanes.
