After two straight losses, the Tampa Bay Rays leaped back on the win wagon, with a 1-0 win over Kansas City yesterday at Tropicana Field.

Wade Davis pitched 7 scoreless innings for his third win in four decisions. Evan Longoria's 4th inning homer provided all the offense Davis would need.

The Rays, now 18-7 and 1 1/2 games up on the Yankees in the A.L. East, are off today, then start their first western swing Tuesday. Tampa Bay will play three in Seattle, three in Oakland and three against the Angels, before returning home for three against Seattle beginning Friday, May 14th.

In the other A.L. divisional races, Minnesota leads Detroit by 1/2 game in the Central and in the West, Texas is 1/2 game ahead of Oakland.

In the N.L., Philadelphia leads the Mets by 1/2 game in the East, St. Louis is up by 4 1/2 games over the Cubs in the Central and San Diego is 1 1/2 games ahead of San Francisco in the West.

Look out for the Orioles. Baltimore has won 3 straight to improve to 7-18 and are now within 11 games of first place Tampa Bay in the A.L. East.

In the state of Florida, DCF stands for Department of Cruelty to Families. What a bunch of beuracratic jerks!

In game two of the USHL's Clark Cup Finals Saturday, Fargo Force goaltender Ryan Massa scored an empty-net goal to help his team beat Green Bay 4-1 and take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. Watch this clip from You Tube and see if you can guess which team signs the pay check of the announcer heard on the video.

Game three of the series is at Fargo this Friday at 8:35pm EDT.

One of the really fun times of the year to live in Central Florida is spring, when the temperatures start to warm up, but the humidity isn't too high. What's fun about that? Well, take today for instance. As I write this, at just past 6:30am EDT, the current temperature is 73, with the high predicted to be 92 this afternoon under gorgeous sunny skies. Now, compare that to my hometown of Portland, Oregon, where today, they expect rain and a high of 54. The fun part is when I call at friend back home and hear the disgust in their voice, when I tell them how much better the weather is here than it is there.

I plan to enjoy it while I can. Because, when the humidity gears up for the summer, it can be quite unbearable here.

I love hockey rinks and arenas. I've been in quite a few in my time. And I love to see pictures. If you like to see some of the old (and new) barns, check out this site:

Enjoy looking at all the pictures and reading all the stories. And be sure to tell the site owners I sent you!

I think I've mentioned one, or two, or a gazillion times, just how cute and charming our Jimmy is. Well, he continues to become cuter and sweeter day by day. Yesterday at church, I was sitting in the nursery while he happily played away. When Mommy came to get him and asked if I was going to join them, Jimmy said: "Daddy coming?" The night before, Jimmy was having trouble getting back to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night. Mommy went and got him(I was at work) and asked him: "Do you want to sleep on Daddy's side of the bed?" Upon hearing that, Jimmy crawled off the bed and went to the front door, saying "Daddy home?" He was apparently disappointed when Mommy told him I wasn't home. It melted my heart to hear that story. Our little guy is pretty special!

That's it for today. Y'all have fun, okie dokie?!?!
