University of Wisconsin Remains No. 1
in USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Wisconsin remains No. 1 in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll following a weekend sweep of then-No. 10 Ohio State University. The Badgers, who boast a 20-2-0 record, accumulated 186 points and 15 first-place votes to earn the top spot for the seventh time this season.

Cornell University sits at No. 2 with 175 points and four first-place votes, having earned victories over Yale University and Brown University last weekend, while Boston University remains at No. 3 with 144 points following a win over then-No. 8 Providence College. The idle University of Minnesota Duluth (129) advances one place to No. 4, while Mercyhurst College (126) rounds out the top five after twice defeating Syracuse University.

Northeastern University returns to the poll at No. 10 after earning a victory over the University of New Hampshire.

This weekend features three top-10 match-ups, with No. 4 Minnesota Duluth traveling to No. 7 University of Minnesota for a weekend series, No. 6 Boston College hosting No. 3 Boston University, and No. 10 Northeastern hosting Boston College.

NOTES: The Western Collegiate Hockey Association and Hockey East each boast four ranked teams, while ECAC Hockey and College Hockey America each have one program ranked ... A total of 14 teams received votes.

ABOUT THE POLL: The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the four NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
