Western Hockey League Roundup for Tuesday, October 30th, 2018













Kootenay ICE 2, Swift Current Broncos 1 (SO)

Payton Krebs and Brett Davis scored in the shootout to push the ICE to the win. Davis's goal just shy of the 16:00 minute mark of the third, countered a late first period goal by Swift Current's Ethan Regnier. Jesse Makaj made 41 saves for the ICE, Joel Hofer 28 for the Broncos, in front of  2,162 at the Inovation Credit Union i-plex in Swift Current.

Brandon Wheat Kings 5, Prince George Cougars 4

Stelio Mattheos paced the Brandon offense with a goal, 3 assists and 11 shots Tuesday night. Linden McCorrister had a goal and 2 assists, Connor Guttenberg tallied a goal and assist, while Braden Schneider and Luka Burzan added singles, with Ethan Kruger stopping 26 shots in the Brandon net. For the Cougars, Vladislav Mikhalchuk had a goal and 2 assists, Josh Maser and Cole Moberg both had a goal and an assist, Matej Toman a goal and 39 saves from the goaltending duo of Taylor Gauthier and Isaiah DiLaura. 2,236 looked on at Prince George's CN Centre.

Spokane Chiefs 4, Seattle Thunderbirds 1

3,312 at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena watched Bailey Brkin stop 22 of 23 shots to lead the Chiefs to the win. Riley Woods scored twice, Jake McGrew and Egor Arbuzov once. The Seattle goal was scored by Dillon Hamaliuk.Liam Hughes made 28 saves.
