Western Hockey League roundup for Friday, November 30th, 2018













Brandon Wheat Kings 5, Regina Pats 1

Linden McCorrister had a goal and an assist, Marcus Sekundiak, Ben McCartney, Cole Reinhardt and Luka Burzan scored one each, Ethan Kruger made 29 saves, as Brandon won before 3,596 at Westoba Place. Ty Kolle score a power play goal, Max Paddock made 24 saves for Regina.

Moose Jaw Warriors 3, Edmonton Oil Kings 1

2 in the second and 1 in the third for Moose Jaw overcame a 1-0 deficit after one, before 7,292 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Brayden Tracy, Yegor Buyalski and Justin Almeida scored for the Warriors, Adam Evanoff made 35 saves. For the Oil Kings, Brett Kemp scored and Dylan Myskiw made 19 saves.

Lethbridge Hurricanes 3, Swift Current Broncos 1

Justin Hall led the Hurricanes attack with a goal and assist, Zachary Cox and Jake Elmer scored a goal each, Carl Tetachuk made 25 saves. For Swift Current, Max Patterson scored and Joel Hofer made 39 saves in front of 5,239 at the Enmax Centre.

Red Deer Rebels 6, Calgary Hitmen 2

The Rebels scored 4 in the first and coasted to the win in front of 3,797 at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer. Jeff de Wit scored twice in the first period for the Rebels, Brandon Hagel also scored twice, once on the power play and Chris Douglas scored twice, with Ethan Anders making 43 saves. For Calgary, Luke Coleman and Mark Kastelic scored goals, Jack McNaughton made 17 saves.

Kamloops Blazers 3, Saskatoon Blades 2 (OT)

Quinn Schmiemann scored the game-winner 1:29 into overtime to Kamloops to the win before 3,751 at the Sandman Centre. Jermaine Loewen and Connor Zary scored in regulation for the Blazers, Dylan Garand made 23 saves. For Saskatoon, Emil Malysjev scored even strength and May Gerlack on the power play, Nolan Maier made 26 saves.

Seattle Thunderbirds 7, Kelowna Rockets 4

Seattle scored six times in the final 40 minutes at they skated past the ICE before 4,257 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent. Zack Andrusiak had a big night for the TBirds with 3 goals and an assist, Andrej Kukuca had a goal and assist as did Noah Philip, with Simon Kubicek and Tyler Carpendale scoring once each and Liam Hughes making 20 saves. For Kootenay, Payton Krebs scored 3 goals, Michael Milne 1, Duncan McGovern made 38 saves.

Kelowna Rockets 3, Tri-City Americans 2 (OT)

The Americans scored in the final seconds to force overtime, but Kelowna got the game-winner in the opening moments of the extra session, with 3,480 looking on at Kennewick's Toyota Center. Tri-City got goals from Kyle Olson in the first and Krystof Hrabik, with just 10.2 seconds left in regulation. Rockets goals were scored by Leif Mattson and Kyle Crosbie in the second period and Mattson again just 20 seconds in overtime. James Porter had 26 saves for Kelowna, Beck Warm 23 for the Americans.

Everett Silvertips 5, Spokane Chiefs 4 (OT)

Spokane scored with 16 seconds left to force overtime, but a goal 53 into overtime won it for the Silvertips, in front of 4,051 at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett. Riley Sutter on the power play, Wyatte Wylie, Akash Bains, Martin Fasko-Rudas and Connor Dewar in OT scored for Everett, who got 23 saves from Dustin Wolf. The Chiefs' goals were scored by Eli Zumack, Luc Smith and Filip Kral on the power play and Ethan McIndoe even strength, Dawson Weatherill made 34 saves.  Spokane went 3-for-6 on the power play.
