Washington, D.C. -- Chris Archer walked off the mound after pitching the first inning of his Major League career. In the rearview mirror were the seven batters the right-hander faced before finally retiring the side.

Not Archer, the 23-year-old right-hander went on to go toe-to-toe against Stephen Strasburg for the next five innings. Unfortunately, his stellar effort went for naught as the Nationals took a 3-2 win over the Rays at Nationals Park with 27,485 watching.

Anaheim, CA.-- Every time Ryan Vogelsong takes the mound, he thinks he has something to prove.
He feels he has to beat the top-tier pitchers in the league to prove that his 13-win season last year was no fluke, that he is one of the league's top guys himself.
And though he pitched at least seven innings for the fifth straight start Wednesday, it wasn't enough, as the Giants fell to Jered Weaver and the Angels, 6-0, in the series finale at Angel Stadium.

Last year, canned beer was back up to 53% of the market, the same percentage it enjoyed back in 1981.
