Wenatchee, WA. – The Wenatchee
Wolves continued to roll through the NPHL, winning three times this past
weekend. The Wolves beat the Eugene Generals 4-2 on Thursday, January 28th,
and then topped the Tri-Cities Outlaws twice, 10-2 on Friday, January 29th
and 9-4 on Sunday, January 31st.
On Thursday in Eugene, Will
Connors (Richland, WA) scored twice, Hunter
Alden (Walla Walla, WA) added 3 assists and Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) made 22 stops, leading the Wolves to the
4-2 win over the Generals. Wenatchee went 1-for-6 on the power play and 2-of-2
on the penalty kill.
On Friday in Kennewick, the Wolves skated to a 10-2 win over
Tri-Cities. Coleton Booth (Delta,
BC) scored 5 goals, Denton Hymer
(Wenatchee, WA) and Tom Ignatovich (Seattle, WA) scored a goal and 3 assists
each and Jacob Bennett (Snohomish,
WA) added a goal and 2 assists. Bronson
Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 22 saves for Wenatchee, who went 3-for-5 on the
power play and 5-of-6 on the penalty kill.
On Sunday in Wenatchee, it was a 9-4 win for the Wolves over the
Outlaws. Richie Stickle (Healy, AK)
scored 4 goals, Andrew Moessner
(Omaha, NE) had a goal and 2 assists and Flynn made 15 saves. Wenatchee went 2-for-6
on the power play and 2-of-4 on the penalty kill.
“It was a good weekend.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head Coach Ryan
McKelvie. “A lot of travel and to be able to win all three games on the
weekend, I thought our guys played well and worked hard. I’m proud of the way
we played all weekend.”
With the three wins, the Wolves improve to 30-1-0-0, 13 points
ahead of second-place Bellingham. Next up for Wenatchee is a home-and-home set
with the West Sound Warriors, Friday, February 5th in Bremerton and
Sunday, February 7th, 2:35pm at the Community Rink at the Town
Toyota Center.
